About:

Brittany Clifford (b. 1992) is a self-taught abstract artist hailing from Westchester, NY. Now residing in sunny Miami Beach Florida, Brittany is driven by a deep passion for art and design, she pursued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, focusing on Fashion Design and Textile Design. Brittany’s artistic journey began as a means of self-expression, where she found in painting a direct and unfiltered way to convey her innermost emotions. Her large-scale works are characterized by the use of watered-down acrylics, spray paint, and oil pastel, allowing her to craft dream-like, ethereal compositions that captivate the viewer. Brittany describes her creative process as a pursuit to communicate what words cannot: "I create to be seen, I create to be experienced."

Artist Statement:

My work explores memory and emotion through abstraction, focusing on moments that linger quietly beneath the surface. Each piece is shaped by past experiences, distant memories, and present feelings, reflecting the way personal history continues to influence who we become.

I work primarily on raw canvas using watered-down acrylics, oil pastel, and spray paint. My process is intuitive and fluid, allowing the materials to move freely and guide the composition. Layers build gradually, creating a balance between movement and calm that mirrors the emotional shifts we experience over time.

Themes of connection, release, and transformation are central to my practice. Rather than telling a fixed story, my paintings invite viewers to bring their own meaning and emotion into the work, allowing each piece to grow within its space.

At its core, my art is about presence and transition. It honors vulnerability, change, and the beauty found in moments that shape us, even after they have passed.
